November Open House Summary

11 月 15, 2021

Central Walk is pleased to be working with the professional teams at Cascadia Architects and Ascend Planning to engage with our neighbours and the broader Victoria community as we create a new long-range vision for Mayfair Shopping Centre.

On November 1st and 2nd, we conducted a series of drop-in neighbourhood open houses. These events saw over 140 neighbours, community members and interested stakeholders visit the shopping centre to learn about our initial redevelopment proposal and provide their feedback.

The key contents of this open house have been summarized in the slides linked below. The overall structure of the open houses included:

  1. Introductions to Central Walk and our project team;
  2. Site history and context for the shopping centre;
  3. Urban planning, design and development principles;
  4. Guiding frameworks and influences for the project;
  5. Phasing and timelines;
  6. Urban design and public realm inspirations;
  7. Future visioning and renderings.

Please review the most important slides from the presentation by clicking the link below and do not hesitate to reach out to the Central Walk team if you have any questions or feedback. We are in the early consultative phases of what will be a significant and long-term project for the Mayfair Shopping Centre site, the Burnside Gorge neighbourhood and the City of Victoria. We appreciate the feedback of the public and will take it seriously as we continue to work with our design team and the City of Victoria to refine this proposal and development plan in the coming months.
